Is Shuma cot made according to standard size?
At 70 x 140 cm, Shuma cot’s measurements are slightly bigger than the more commonly used 60 x 120 cm.
This is in order to ensure a longer life span of the product and enough space for when it is used as a toddler bed.
What kind of mattress is suitable for Shuma cot?
We recommend the original Shuma mattress which is designed to perfectly fit the cot according to safety standards. The Shuma mattress is purchased separately.
When using mattresses from other manufacturers, it is important to make sure the distance from the mattress top to the top of the cot is AT LEAST 20 cm for safety reasons.
There is a mark on the cot that indicates the maximum height of the mattress to be used with the cot.
Also, any gaps between the mattress and sides or ends should not exceed 3 cm.
How many height positions are possible?
There are two possible height positions. The top position is used from 0 to approximately 6 months old, or until the baby is able to pull itself up to its knees.
How long can my child use the cot?
From birth to approximately 5 years. When your child is ready to move to a big bed, Shuma can be used as a child sofa with the addition of cozy cushions available from Stribbo.
How can I ensure added safety for my toddler when using the Shuma cot?
At approximately 2 years (or as soon as the child is able to lean over the rail or climb out of the cot), the front rail should be removed and the cot transforms into the toddler bed.
For added safety, we recommend the use of Stribbo safety guard.
How is the cot bumper used?
The bumper can be adjusted to any position around the cot, wherever it is most needed to adjust to unique sleeping habits of your child.
Please ensure it is tightly fixed.
How do I clean my Shuma cot?
All wooden parts should be cleaned with a damp cloth.
Excess moisture should be wiped with a dry cloth in order to prevent staining and damage to the material.
